Oil Guage
Oil Guage
Hey guys I have a question about my 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 . I went to start it yesterday and when it started up I noticed the "the idiot" light went on that said--CHECK GUAGES. When I did I noticed that my oil guage wasn't reading anything. I gave it some gas and then I felt something kick in and then the oil guage went up to normal. What does this sound like it is and what do you think caused this? It was pretty cold out last night but not bitterly cold--maybe 25 or so. Thanxs in advance for any help you can give me.

Did you by chance notice what the voltage gauge was at? If you 'felt' something, it is possible the alternator was slipping or not charging. What you 'felt' was it starting to work. The low voltage could screw up what the oil "gauge" shows.
Hey guys sorry it took so long to get back to you but I did a search on oil switch and found out where it was. I replaced it today and that took care of the problem. Thank you for your help guys!! I'll make sure I do a search for now on before I waste your guys time by having you answer the same question 50 times.Sorry about that! I do have one question that I couldn't find a answer to. How much is a bama tuner? I would like to take the rev limiter off my Ranger also so if you don't mind I'd like to know how much this is going to put me back. Thanxs again for all your help
