Parts compatibility

Will a rear axle for a 2001 2wd ranger fit a 2001 2wd b3000?

Yes

1993 Rangers to 2009 Ranger axles are the same bolt up to the truck
1994 Mazda B-series to 2009 are same as Rangers so can be exchanged, all things line up and bolt up

There were 2 sizes of rear axles, 7.5" and 8.8" they are also interchangeable in above years.

Rear axles do have a few Ratio options, i.e. 3.45, 3.73, 4.10, if you use a different ratio your speedometer will be off and you will need it calibrated to correct it

There were also OPEN type and Limited Slip type rear axles, interchangeable, but if your swapping in a new axle why not use Limited Slip if you can find it

Axle ID methods seen here: https://therangerstation.com/tech_li...le_codes.shtml

2010/11 Rangers had rear disc brakes and the rear axle had larger axle tubes, you can use them, just need different U-bolts and plates
