Pawl question, Ranger slipped in park after parking brake got pulled
Was parked in an incline parking spot at my mom's earlier. Asked her to pop the hood so I could check my belt since it's been squeaking and she accidently pulled the parking brake. Truck started rolling out of the driveway with a nice tasty crunching sound for about a foot before we got it stopped and the parking brake back on.
I'm planning on checking those bolts under the dash that I've read tend to loosen up on there own after a while to get my shifter column set, and maybe mess with the shift linkage if need be.
My question is; is the potential parking pawl damage something that could effect the rest of my transmission? Should I be worried about any gear damage in the transmission itself at all? I just did an ATFC a week ago, so if I could avoid doing another that would certainly be nice.
My transmission is slamming a bit when I shift into reverse, and I could have sworn I heard some concerning noises while going over a bridge on the way back to my house. Shame because it was shifting so smooth after my ATFC.
