Tranny Swap
Tranny Swap
Back at the beginning of the year i was getting tips from a gentleman about swapping my auto tranny to manual. i have 94 4.0 4WD. i just have a few questions that i can't find any of the old threads.
oh ok, well i was just looking for someone to help me out on a couple of things thats all. i just went out to look for my PCM in my truck and its not there, i have a donor truck with everything i need but where is the PCM on my truck and the other thing electrical i need to swap out
The PCM should be in the passengers kick panel if I remember correct. As for the manuals wiring, it should be located on the trans of the donor truck and plugs into your truck harness. Should trade out one trans harness for another, should be plug and play I believe.
ok i found it, it think, its silver and square right? so i need to take that from the donor truck and will the wiring harness plug right into the other PCM from the donor? Also what are the 2 plugs that plug into the master cylinder by the pedal?
Yes the PCM should plug right in, i'm not sure if anything has to be repinned though, hopefully someone else will chim in. The two plugs by the master cylinder are for the neutral safety switch and the clutch safety switch. Its so the clutch has to be depressed in order to start the truck, or in neutral, so it doesn't take off when you start it. You will need those or the truck won't start.
Yea I know but i didnt know the reason for the ban and i didn't want to stir up up anything , sorry i have read his thread i just a couple of extra questions thats all. i had read something about someone finding the electrical plugs for the master cylinder under the dash, I just wanted to know if that is true
