A buddy's 96 4x4 4.0 auto he was on way home from trip cruising down hwy and transmission just quit like it was in neutral so we took trailer and picked it up next day went to look at it checked fluid add just a bit to top off tried it and it was fine took it down the road all good went to turn around to head back lost it again no gears i thought pump at first but ive never had that happen where it would work again so sensor silanoid?

 

I'm going through the same. Do you have any gears hooking up at all?

 

It worked fine never had a issue went out no gears at all got it home next day tried it worked fine briefly then nothing at all no gears like it was in neutral
