Weird noise when shifting in to 4 Hi

Sometimes when i shift into 4 hi i hear a weird noise, like when you hold a stick to a chicken wire fence and run down it. it starts out slow and get faster, but only lasts for a fraction of a second when i first engage it. this has happened to me twice since i got the truck both times i was wheelin in 2wd and got stuck so i flip into 4hi with out taking out of drive. I have tried to replicate it by doing the 2wd into 4wd thing stopped and by going like 30mph, but the 4x4 engages fine everytime. 4lo works fine as well. how can i fix/avoid this? Should i be worried when it does happen? thnkx for any help.

make sure your back wheels where not spinning while you where stuck. It is hard on it if your front wheels are stopped and your back ons are spinning. Going down the road its not a big deal because there all spinning the same speed.
