01-04ish bumper on a 93-97

01-04ish bumper on a 93-97

has anyone tried this, I like the look of just the small metal piece in front and was wondering if itd look good or look like crap.

only problem i could think of is your grille surround is straight across whereas the new ones have a dip in it...

ya, but my bumper has a small dip in it under the grill, kinda similar to the dip in the new ones

not much of a dip on the '97 style.....dramaticially bigger dip on the '98+. To bolt on a '98-05 bumper on your 93-97 truck, i believe you need new frame horns to mount the bumper onto it. I know there's a member over on RPS with a really nice black '97 and older lifted w/ a black edge bumper conversion....and still has his stock grille/headlights.

that does look real good, fix that gap a lil and i think itd be pretty sweet. thanks guys

ew no it doesn't! If you are gonna swap, swap the whole clip. that gap looks like assbutt

unless you cover that gap with 4 KCs dont do it, looks like a mistake

i asked this question once and got the same answers that your getting..

what i would like to know is.. what needs to me made to mount it..
pictures of custom brackets and how it was put on would be nice..

ya, i think that black ranger looks real good with it on there, just needs to snug it up a bit, but pics of brackets would be great

i havnt installed a new bumper on my 93 ranger but i lifted my bumper the other day from a body lift install. for some F'd up reason the company sent me bracks that required notching the frame. well i just drilled a couple custom holes in the frame and mounted the brackets. it worked flawlessly. its probably similar with the new bumpers, anybody else raise their bumper on the newer fords?

I like it, its a big improvement on a dated look. I agree the gap needs addressed.

That's not my truck but if i remember correctly he just fabbed up his mounts out of some steel plates i couldn't imagine it would that difficult with a welder.
