Anyone know what years/trim packages came with painted door handles? I remember the '00 Sport my Dad used to have... it had red painted handles.

Just thought it'd be easier to swap out handles if I could find some used black painted ones...

 

my grandpas 98 XLT has them...i think ford did away with them in 01 i might be wrong though


EDIT: i think the painted handles were only a 98-00 thing

 

I am not sure either, but my 99 XLT does not have painted handles. I wish it did though.

 

I am pretty sure only 98- 00 sports had painted handles. I know my 00 sport has a painted tailgate handle and door handles.

 

Good to know... still haven't found any used ones yet though!

I believe all the B3000 Sports had color matched door handles and fender flares... only the 2010 B4000 has color matched handles and flares. I've got them on my black 2010 b4000 and it's a nice touch.

 

my 2007 sport has color matched handles.. but just the doors.

 

The Jp7 edition comes with all the exterior trim painted to match the body....

 

i think it would be alot easier just to paint the handles that you already have because ford rivits them on from the factory. just my $.02

 

My 09 has painted door handles OEM. You can find used painted handles pretty cheap I bet. They will be smooth and not textured so they are indeed different in that regard. You can paint the textured ones if you want, but then you gotta sand out the texture so meh... more work.

I still have a production painter mentality. Just get the right parts, shoot them and be done with it. On to the next one! lol.

 

That's what I was thinking... even if I get a set of any other colour it'll be a whole lot easier to repaint black than to paint my textured ones after making them smooth.
