Third brake light
Just when I think I'm making progress on my truck, more things start breaking. Fix one and two more break. I resealed my 3ed brake light a year ago and its leaking again. Looks like the lens has a lot of small cracks in it. I am looking for a new assembly and I'd like to stay with an after market OEM style unit.
Dorman has one, 923-206 that looks like it might be an exact fit but the web sites I checked, including Dormans, says it fits from 1995 to 2008. I dont see any difference from mine. I have cargo lights and I want to keep them. Does anyone know if Dormans unit will also fit a 94? Also, with the LED units, do they require a ballast resistor or are they plug and play?
Thanks guys

I could probably do that too but it doesn't fix the leaking cracked lens. I am finding out that 3rd light and rear window leaks are pretty much a common Ranger malady. I just started having problems with this truck a year ago. Up till then its been more than reliable and I feel its worth restoring....and keeping.

Well I didnt want to hear that. Do you recall who manufacturer was?. Maybe I'll see if I can resurrect my light somehow. At some point I expect to get the truck repainted and I dont want some ugly repaired light hanging on a new paint job. I did find an OEM light at Tasca Auto parts in Rhode Island but they said the part was out of stock and is no longer in production. However, they had one that was all red for $90. My OEM Part number is F37Z13A613A.

When it dries I'll resand it and give the whole unit a few coats of clear. Maybe that will be enough to seal those hairline cracks. Then I'll get another gasket and run a silicon bead around it, then use grease as a release agent on the cab and attach the light. Hopefully it will work just fine. If not I'll have to bite the bullet and go with something else.
I checked LMC two days ago and was ready to place an order for some other items as well....then I read their privacy statement. After that I deleted my order. I dont think I'll be doing business with LMC unless they change their privacy policy and start respecting their internet customers privacy
Thanks again Ron

Thats what I dont understand...I know 94 was the last model year for several things but I thought the cabs were all the same. I cant imagine whats different between the 94 vs 95 units.
