Depends though. If the vehicle that needs paint is a classic or a nice vehicle then I'd do it. But the truck in question if a classic piece of ****.

ok I have a true idea... honestly...

beds all rusty right? ok.. cut the bed sides off and run glass fenders, allow more clearness, thats if the bed inner structure is ok. if not just run glass and make a bed cage like a "prerunner" in a sense for wheeling.

next guessing the front fenders are rusting run glass up front mild flare and lift also allow larger clearness and thats always the problem with 3rd gen trucks and lifting.

front and rear bumpers take those off with rear with glass it wont work anyways make a custom tube bumper and tube shop will bend one up if you give them dimensions if you dont have a tube bender. front tube will allow more clearness in the front and better approach angle

cab if its fixable patch panel the problem area's.

then repaint it same color or like white or black something easy so touch up and respray if damaged.

being honest..

I wouldn't waste my time and money lifting a 2wd truck (what you did). I'm sure there are some that wouldn't take an 04 and make it look like an 06+ (what I'm doing). We all have our reasons. I have to admit I get a laugh out of no matter what Downey posts people just come in and tell him his truck is a rust bucket or whatever, but come on people give him a break sometime. It might be all he has, it might be all he wants. So lay off of him.

To Downey I think the third one you posted looks the best. Just a suggestion if you want to keep it looking nice don't paint it black on the bottom. Black swirl marks if you even look at it wrong. If you go off roading I'd stay away from black, or at least go with a bed liner on the bottom.

I like the second one best. I love black trucks and hate teal anything...lol

As far as people being negative they may not understand your situation. I'm sure you would be driving a nice FX4 if you could(me too for that matter). Hey you never know when a truck will pop up that needs a motor or something for cheap.

Bed liner the bottom... or the whole thing.

Or rattle can the entire thing satin black, or any other satin color. Don't think I've seen that one before.

New wheels would set it off the way it is.. teal and black isn't that bad... thats a lot of time & $ changing the paint on a vehicle to a totally different color is a lot of work.. (thinking door jams and under hood crap.. if you really want something new go for a deep forest green or something then the jams aren't that noticeable and its less expensive...

But seriously new wheels and new springs (level) in the front would really help the look of your truck.

The problem here is that you don't know anyone or what is going on. Not trying to be an *** but you are just another noob trying to save the day. Let me guess. I'm an a$$hole now right? Yup I am. Eveyrone knows it. Everyone also knows that I don't like Rangers all that much. But really if the OP would stop to think once and a while then the bashing wouldn't occur.

Downey, I think it would look cool with the black on top and keeping the rest the same, that way it'd be black/teal/black. Otherwise, having the black on top of the teal with the black bumpers looks a bit funky.

honestly, either one. hell, i even like the one you got. just sucks that you got that bad rust problem. Teal and black do go good together, and the fact your grill is black helps you out a lot.

go with what YOU like.

Paint it toreader red man, what if you made the two tone one all black with blue in the center? instead of all blue and black in the middle.
