UPDATE:

so got the tailgate mounted today and the cables are holding the weight.. i got some pictures so i will post them later when im on my laptop.

so here's the pics.. i also laid some chunks of expanded metal on it to see what it will look like. there's a couple more spots i wanna weld up and finish grinding some welds, then primer and paint.

so i had a thin coat of primer on the tailgate when it was on the truck and i figured that it shouldnt rust too bad... well i went out the other day to check on it and it was showing lots of surface rust... oh **** so i pulled it off and brought it into the shop and ground the rust off.. just gotta finish getting the rust off then im priming it and painting it before it goes back the truck.. my rear bumper has to come off also im going to add a horizontal plate at the bottom of the other mount brackets so i can bolt it from the bottom too.

also got the other "lip" on the edge ground down smooth yesterday..add a couple more welds and paint it..

ah working..... LOTS!!!! haha.. sorry i've been meaning to IM you a couple times but just havent had the time... you can only do so much in 10 days haha lol.. i did buy a new truck bed (from a 98 with tails) also did new wheel bearings, new brake pads, axle shaft u-joints, got my rear bumper welded on solid now too..

this shift its a new extended cab window (blew it out while wheeling), managed to grab some nice stainless step bars so im going tomorrow and grabbing some material for that, plus im finally getting some ****ing expanded metal for my friggin tailgate i've been working on.

uhh.. my auntie and my cousin moved in with us. i will definitely grab a couple of pictures of the truck.

umm it was pretty cheap. we had the angle iron laying around the yard and the expanded metal was cheap also.

the tailgate is not done yet i still have to toss the metal on it. i used 2"x2" angle iron and cut them at a 45 deg angle and welded them together. then i took 1" wide strips of metal and welded them to the ends of the tailgate to "hide" the latches. i have an idea for a latches that i want to try.

nope not done yet.havent had the time most of the year to work on it. i have to re-measure the diameter of the s10 tailgate and might have to cut it to fit but i got some mesh for it thats big enough so i can cut that down to size.. its snowing a helluva lot harder today then it was yesterday so gonna have to whip out the snowblower soon, but i'll try to get some pics of it for ya.
