Question about bumper and fabrication.

ok so i have a question about a new bumper, well recently i was working on my truck and i dropped my ratchet on my front bumper and it left a small dent from it. I got to thinking, if this is what happens from a ratchet if i hit someone or something im going to be screwed. So i have looked through all ten pages at the fabrications that some of you guys have made and am very impressed. my question is how hard is it to make a ARB style bumper for my 01 ranger?? i was looking at ARB bumpers and i really love the design and the fact they look so mean and rugged. i really like wolfmans type of bumper. anyone have some pictures or ideas that i could go off of? Thanks guys! Im already learning so much from this site.

I would just find a picture of the style you want and take it too a local shop. Unless you planned on building it yourself....

just get a cattle guard from an old train.... who cares what happens to other peoples vehicles, your truck will be fine haha

my bumper is 1 3/4" .120 wall tubing and i have had the weight of my truck come down on it when i lawn darted it a while back and it only scuffed the paint... not much is needed to make a strong bumper

^LOL. Unfortunately, that's about the going rate for a shop made plate bumper. Tubular bumpers would be significantly cheaper to fab up....probably about 75% or less than that quote you got for a plate bumper.
