Working On an Intake

Since I have been unable to locate any kind of intake for my ranger other than just a new drop in filter I am going to try and make one myself. This could turn out very bad. Has anyone else made one? Im just looking to figure out a few bumps in the road that anyone else ran into so I can try and avoid them.

The only thing that I have ever built out of art class in school was a chicken coop, and a few fences. so Im willing to take any advice I can get. So if any of yal have any ideas on what material I should use, thickness? things of this nature it would be really great.

Thank you,

a local customization shop couldnt find an intake for my brother's 02 mustang so they made one. it looks to be made out of 3" stainless with those rubber pieces that have hose clamps around them connecting the tubing pieces together.

i dont know how to bend stuff that big safely though.
