I dont have the experience?

572cid BBC with M4 system made 1180 ft/lb. Been running for over 2 years. (this was dyno tuned)
454cid BBC with M3 system made close to 750ft/lb. Over 3 years.
LT1 Impala SS with P1SC system over 100k miles.
I can keep going if you would like.

That 400hp V6 Mustang has over 25k miles on it.
Again, I never said a tune was a bad thing.

I will give you credit, that looks like a clean install in the pic above.

No. All three of those are all EFI. Have done carb systems, and they are a pain to dial in, that blow through box sucks.

EEC tuning

To Nick:

Ignore if you like, this is going to basic.

Tuning an OBD-II vehicle involves reprogramming the decision tables in the PCM; at least this is what I understand.

Must the reprogramming be done only on the OEM PCM, or can a replacement PCM be used?

I am looking at buying a used PCM [from a 2002] to send to whipple instead of the PCM in my 2004; that way I can avoid the week down time.

I am told that that will not work because the 2002 PCM PATS will not recognize my ignition key. [yes, or no; if you know?]

Surely Ford has a PATS reprogramming/learning process somewhere.

HAHA, funny guy^^^ Once again though, this wasnt on a stock 4.0 and this wasnt using a factory maf or fuel injectors...... But yea, I got ur point.

Procharger sends you the basics in a kit. You get all the s/c mounting systems, intercooler(if you want a 3 core you have to wait 4-6weeks and spend 400 bucks more) and pipes, FMU(fuel management unit) which does nothing more that shut the return down under boost, and an in-line fuel pump. DONT get me wrong, these are awesome kits, make lots of power, and are very efficient, but even the plug-and-play kits are still tuner kits........

Oh yea, I was wanting to find out if you knew someone who is really close to my family... Jimmy Clarke(Lizard) ring a bell? It may not, but I just have an odd feeling you may know him. I will get some more info on him, he was a green beret...

Wasnt a factory ECC unit either. Never touched it tho :) . Was my old Tec3.

It pulled 421 and went Boom when winding down LOL! Sounded awesome before the place shook and valve cover parts went all over the place.. schrapnel everywhere.. Was just a stock SOHC and we hit it with 20psi of boost and like a 100 shot ( maybe more. the .092 jet was in the wett side of the setup, dont remember what the fuel side was.. was huge tho ) . The M90 shot about 4 feet over the top of the engine and landed like.. dunno, it hit the wall and went thru the plywood portion and bounced back.. I remember the lights in the room flickering for some reason..

I'm betting we could get 500hp out of a stock SOHC.. just once! Lotsa juice :)

Just buy a used S trim head unit off some site Ebay maybe then buy all the plumbing and etc. from vortec and its not so expensive anymore. Ooops the secret of buying SC and keeping everything cheaper is out. It doesn't have to be brand new to make more HP TRQ.
