1998 Airbag inoperative

1998 Airbag inoperative
Info: 1998 4.0L 2WD automatic, mileage 222,350
Issue: no airbag light, no horn, no cruise control. Have an intermittent alarm, 3 separate each with 5- beeps.
Checked fuses & relays - good.
Changed out cruise control switches & wiring. NO CHANGE.
Someone told me manufacturer sets up airbags to be inoperative once certain high mileage occurs (T/F)???
Any fixes or info. Thanks.
