2000 key chime works only when door is open
I have a 2000 ranger and it bugs me that it never chimes when I turn the key to any position. They work fine when I open the door with the key in, it even has the different tone if I turn the key to the run position. But if I close the door, I get nothing. It’s not a huge issue but it bugs me, is there anything I can do to make it chime again?

Why do you want it to chime with the door closed? The reason for the chime is to remind you the key is in the ignition when you open the door. That is so you don't accidentally walk off and leave the key in the ignition tempting somebody to take a joy ride. If you leave the lights on you will get a chime also when you open the door.
