2000 ranger a/c only blows out the defrost

2000 ranger a/c only blows out the defrost

my 2000 ranger when the air is on it only blows out the defroster it dont matter which mode you put it in it still just blows out the defroster where do I need to start looking where my problem may be ? thanks

You probably have a vac. leak between the control head and source vac from the engine. Start at the engine and work your way into the cab. It comes in on the pass side firewall by the blower motor. The plasic lines get hard and break often times, esp during a turnup.

Also could be a problem with the plastic vacuum reservoir being cracked or disconnected. I believe that in 2000, the reservoir is hidden between the inner and outer fender on the passenger side.

thanks that was the problem the reservoir was cracked this truck the right fender has been hit I just followed the vac hoses to it and found it busted in half. and yes its hid between the inner and outer fender I put on a new one the air comes out like it should thanks
