2000 Ranger, cruise control dead

I just bought this truck, cruise buttons were non-functional, replaced with a set from ebay, used a youtube video. Still dead, no dash light, nothing.... Did a little searching, brake lights work, connections look okay. Don't find a dedicated fuse. Any advice would be appreciated!

Welcome to the forum

1998 diagram below, 2000 should be the same

Looks like fuse 10 in the cab is for cruise, but test the grey/yellow wire at the controller for 12v with key on

The dash light should come on using the on/off button, cruise doesn't have to be set for that

Thanks for the reply Ron. Fuse OK, 12V to the grey/yellow wire. Found the problem, which was me. I was expecting to see the dash cruise light when I hit the ON button, like all of my Jeeps. I actually never road tested it after replacing the buttons, my bad. Thinking that there might be an indicator light problem, I drove it and when I hit the SET button I got the green light and cruise operational. Your time and attention is well-appreciated

Get used to changing those out every couple years. They all bake in the sun and turn to dust :) Glad you got it sorted out.
