That sunroof sure would be nice, but I don't think it would fit on my standard cab roof!

The tranny crossmember requires you to remove 7 bolts from each side before it is disconnected from the frame. 4 of those are metal L-shaped covers for the torsion keys. The other 3 are what hold the actual crossmember to the frame.

Does anyone know what type of connection holds the fuel lines onto the metal nipples on the top of the gas tank? I tried using the spring-lock disconnect tools to no avail. I'm going to douse it down with WD-40 and see if that helps.

Well, I guess since nobody knows what to use to remove those fitting, I will cut the lines.

I got the motor and tranny pivoting on the motor mount plates, finally. Getting the driver's side exhaust off was a *****!!!

That's a good idea! The outer diameter is less than 9mm, so it just may work!

Here's the driver's side exhaust, which wraps up under the tranny over to the passenger's side before collecting into the monstrous muffler!

I have a question for ya, my transmission mount is missing a bolt and I just wanna replace the thing. Did you HAVE to take apart the adjuster bolt thing to get that cross member off?

Man... you're gonna love that 5.0L, I love mine... lol... Shift kit is going in Monday.

I hate to tell you but Needforspeed hasn't been on since March, so I dought he will be able to answer your question, although someone else hopefully will.

Anyone know what happened to this guy or his build? I started looking into it a while ago.

He had some personal issues a bit ago. I haven't talked to him in a while, so I don't know if they have caught up with him again.

If I understand correctly, you are asking if it is possible to remove the transmission crossmember without disturbing the torsion bar adjusters. If that is the question, then the answer is yes.

Remove the 2 nuts from the studs at the bottom of the mount through the x-member. Support the transmission properly and remove 2 vertical bolts and 1 horizontal bolt at each end of the x-member to allow its removal. There are 2 more bolts through the top of the mount into the transmission extension housing.
