93-97 headlights suck so bad why?
93-97 headlights suck so bad why?
About 2 years ago I hit a deer and shattered both my headlights (stock ones) well I was stupid and thought id upgrade to some aftermarket ebay specials with some LEDS. Ive tried so many different brands and different types of LEDS but I cant get a good light pattern to shine. Its shining on the ground almost and then I have patches to the sides. Needless to say I cant see 50 feet in front of me at night and I know the times coming when deer #2 will come along. Ive played with those headlight adjuster screws but they drive me nuts. I feel like I have them lined up pretty good but still a crappy light pattern. I eventually re bought “stock” clear housings made to replicate the stock ones. Its ALOT better than the tinted aftermarket ones but it still isnt right. If anybody knows good headlights that dont cost a fortune please let me know. Or if anybody knows if theres a trick to aligning those screws just right let me know. Any help is appreciated!
When aiming your headlights, it's best to aim them on level ground, with the headlights pointing towards a wall or building. There's a certain height the headlight beam should reach, but I don't know what it is. To adjust the headlights, one screw is for left and right, and the other is for up and down. You need to work each screw to figure out which controls which. Both headlight beams should be an equal distance up and down.
The way I would adjust them before I would have to rip the headlight assembly out each time and put the adjuster in a vice to get that rubber bushing to spin. Is there a better way to do this? Its so tedious and everytime I play with them im not sure what way to spin the screw it never seems to get me anywhere. If any of yall have a technique for adjusting these type headlights let me know please
