My wife wanted to buy a truck for us and she got a 96 Ford ranger with 83k miles on it. My first thought was okay..

Well she went to pick it up and gas from just running from the lines. Aprrently rodents had gotten into the lines. Before we bought it the guy was nice enough to replace the lines and fuel pump.

When we brought it back home the truck stalled out when approached a stop sign and would not start. So we had it towed to the mechnaic and when the mechanic took a look at it, it started right up. The mechanic suggested replacing the interior switch.

So we had the interia switch replaced with a Ford part.


Well we have been driving it sense and now she'll just clunk out while sitting idle. It also appears now that it will run fine u til you've been driving about 40 minutes. Then it will clunk out again.

What's really strange is if yoy wait 10 to 20 minutes thr truck will start up again and then you can drive 10 minutes and it'll shut off again. If yoy let it sit overnight she will last 30 minutes.

There is a check engiine light on for the purge valve and my mechanic swears that won't cause it to shut off. The rodents ate part of those wires and said it would kind of be expensive to replace that.

I'm stuck and. O close what to do. I feel like i have a 3500 lawn ordament on my hands.
