I'm considering buying a junked 4.0 and tranny, and was curious if anyone else had done this swap? I know the 5.0/5.8 swap is out there too. I'm wondering if it would be pretty straight forward, or if it would be a pain?

I believe it's a matter of changing out the isolators/mounts if both are 2wd. Everything else should be fairly straight forward.

 

Cool, good too know! What year did the PATS begin in the rangers? I'm just trying to find out what motors will and will not work/fit. Would any from an exploder work? It would be nice to basically drop it in and be (pretty much) good to go!
