can't get transmission installed

I replaced the clutch and throwout bearing and I'm trying to reinstall the transmission and the shaft is in the motor with the throwout bearing against the pressure plate but there's still about a 2 inch gap from the motor.

Did you put the clutch disc in in the correct direction?

It won't push any further? Make sure your O2 sensor connectors haven't fallen between the transmission and engine. Also, it takes a bit of wiggling around to get it to move up closer to the engine.

Which clutch kit did you get? If its a self adjusting pressure plate you need to adjust the spring tension on the fingers. If they aren't adjusted I could see it being difficult to press them down while installing the trans. Not 100% sure it would mess with install though.
