Diesel and dually ranger

So me and a friend of mine where talking and we thought it would be cool to diesel swap and dually axel swap a ranger. How could I go about doing this on a budget, and I dont know much mechaniclly but I think this could be a good way to kick myself into learning. What would be a good diesel engine to put in it. And if I make it a dually I would want the fender wells to look like the one on the older obs.

Baby steps bro....What you thinking about need a lot of no-how and skills. Get yourself a lift kit and body lift. start there to get your feet wet.

Google: TDI Ranger swap
Been quite a few of these swaps, not to expensive, mostly labor

Google: 4BT Ranger swap
The 4BT swap is pricey because engine is pricey

Lots to learn, should be a fun project
Check your State regulations on custom builds, some places require a "road worthy" inspection before it can be registered
The "Dually" part will be the most visible thing so save it until last, lol

Google: ford ranger dually project
