Difference between an XL and an Edge?

So my brother is buying a ranger. He found this one:
Used 2003 Ford Ranger-V6 Supercab 2D in Ansonia | Connecticut

It is an xl, and I wanted to know everything about the XL, like what makes it different from my truck, I have an 03 Edge.
He wants to do the same things to the truck hes getting as I have done to mine:
2" Tbar crank, 2" AAL, 3" BL, Air intake, Flowmaster, bigger tires.
What is different? Will everything be the same? For some reason it looked a little smaller, and the rear didnt have seats and no double door. Is everything else the same?
We were going to crank the tbars in order to fit 32's on there I plan on giving him mine so I can get 33's. But he will be rocking 32's for a a long time before He gets a body lift.
Does anyone know what gears the XL has and will it be alright with 32's? Will they fit?
For some reason it just looks smaller than my truck was stock.
What do y'all think?

im pretty sure it just has a different grille/bumper/valance, and the gears are most likely 3.73's...but side note, i hope he's not paying 7000 for that truck

thats the lowest the guy will go is $7k out the door. Its got some rust on it too, but my bro doesn't have much of an option because he has horrible credit, and needs a lone. Only a couple dealerships are able to get him a lone

xl is only a 4x2. edge can be 4x2 or 4x4. xl is a 2.3 or 2.5 edge is a 3.0 or 4.0.
xl is only a regular cab. edge can be regular or super cab. edge is a torsion bar suspension, xl is not. edge has 245's from factory, xl has 225s. edge has fog lights, xl does not. edge has tow hooks, xl does not, edge has side bars, xl does not...

There are XL 4x4's.

EDGE is one step up from XL. ALOT is the same. XL is straight up fleet truck....virtually no options, though there are options. Exterior, XL is black/grey painted bumpers and grille, plain steel wheels, and 90% of XL's are 4cyl 5spd, though you can get every engine combo and every trans combo and every drivetrain combo. Interior, XL is plain. If you've got no power options in an Edge, they share the same door panels. You also share the same flooring, but yours is heavier duty with a slightly different pattern at the feet. XL's have a vinyl bench seat that feels like a board. Edges get clothe standard. Entertainment wise, I think XL's all just had AM/FM, where Edges got standard AM/FM/CD(I THINK? I really don't remember). Basically, Edge is a nicer, more creature comfort version of the XL and visually is alot better looking than the XL because of the painted body parts and upgraded grille and hood.

You can get a 4x4 XL Most of them are owned by fleet companies like around here you can see them parked in front of Qwest facilities all the time. They will have torsion bars if they are 4x4 but will have the same grill and valance as a 4x2. As well as the same steel wheels.

Don't forget about the edge plus option....Ford loves to give everybody headaches...

I sold my 01 Ranger Edge 4x2 (limited slip 8.8) with 41,xxx for 6200 2 weeks ago. I had quite a few people look at it but only a couple offers. I took the highest and moved on.

Most likely have F or B bars. I've not seen many upclose to actually see what bars they have.

Honestly, they're virtually the same truck just like yours just like mine...it's all about what he wants. In the link, he can do the same stuff you can do to yours, cranked bars, aal's, bl...behind the bumpers and grille, ya'll have the same truck.

I really really want a 01-03 XL reg cab short bed 4.0L 5spd 2wd. They're around, though very very rare.

Forgot to add above, 4x4 XL's got towhooks, and since it's a 4x4, it's got at least a 3.0L...ad says 4.0 which is cool. I think the price is a little out there.....I wouldn't give more than 5 for it personally. Since I'd have to do seats, grille, bumper for it to look 'okay' to me.
