Easiest Swap
Easiest Swap
Hello Ranger Community quick question! as I been itching for my horsepower I been debating on a swap to increase my 95 ranger rwd with the 2.3l lima power. From an experienced member of the community which would be the easiest swap? I seen both the turbo lima and explorer 5.0 and either will suit me but which would fit easier in place with the least amount of custom fabrication. I have seen articles on how todo both but it seems like for the turbo lima it is more common in 1st generation models while in 2nd generation models its the 5.0. I would just like to know which would be easiest and fastest to do.
+1 ^^^^
Calif has been "bitch slapping" Hotrodders for awhile
You CAN do anything you want, but probably won't be able to register and license it for street use if drive train was modified
The turbo 2.3l wouldn't change displacement so would probably be the closest "match" but not sure 1995 with OBD2 computer could pass emissions test with turbo
Research engine swap rules in Calif., loads of info out there on hotrodder forums, check out Mustang forums, they used the same 2.3l SOHC Lima engine you have
