Hello everyone. I'm looking at purchasing a 2011 Ranger Sport that is metallic silver YN paint code, but under the hood, it looks almost like an off-white or light beige color. Is this a base coat from the factory, and is this how they did them and sold them?

The quality of painting looks very good (looks factory), but I can't understand why it would be a light beige or off-white instead of silver like the exterior. The vehicle gives no other indications of repainting. Is anyone else's like this? Can anyone else with a late model silver ranger take a photo under the hood for me?

 

Exterior color will usually be on the firewall since cab is painted before assembly, and rad support usually matches exterior color
On all my older rangers Inner fenders are black

 

Mine B3000 is the same as sanddrag, I'll take a photo some time today and post it.
My engine needs some touch up, so I will be finding what colour Ford used.

The engine bay and all of the body under-carage is this sort of beige ecru colour on mine.

 

This has become a real PITA !

No colour codes for the engine bay, Mazda and Ford were totally useless.

On mine since I can't take the truck to an auto parts store to match the paint, I'm going to use the hood.

The hood is off and it has the same colour on the underside as the engine bay.
The auto parts store has this camera where they can match the colour _ or at least close enough just for the engine bay.
