hello
Has anyone got any good suggestions for ranger suppliers? been looking around and have found a few possibilities around my price range. Also, I am unsure weather I should buy used engines. could anyone help me with this?

Thankyou!

What are you looking for? Jasper Engine rebuild, a low mileage junk yard engine, or a 5.0 Explorer swap?

Yes, what engine?

Some are not great to get used, some are OK but still a gamble, and some years are better than others

Check with local machine shop for price of a rebuild for your engine

Sorry new to all of this. I posted on reddit asking for advice but none of it really made sense to me (probably due to my lack of knowledge in this field haha). I have my sights on a cummins 4bt at the moment. originally I was going to buy privately but was linked to these https://www.4btengines.com/used-engines/ . I see they sell used and remanufactured? Could anyone tell me the difference? Im swaying more to buying from a company due to I know that I wont get ripped off (hopefully). Thanks for the help though guys, much appreciated!

A reman engine should have been opened up and serviced, e.g. worn bearings replaced, etc. A used engine is just that.

What is it that you're trying to do?

I would sign up over here: https://www.4btswaps.com/forum/forum.php

Do some reading about 4BT engines

It is a good swap for a Ranger just not an easy swap, the weight of the engine and torque mean you will need to do some welding and reinforcing of the frame, and of course new drive train.
