how hard is it to change a thermostat?

My thermostat is pretty much fubard. and my gas mileage has gone from 16 to 9. and it never 'warms to norm temp' so. Since, im 3 months passed inspection, and i been waiting for a month for Art, who I have distanced myself from considerably, I need to know, how difficult it is to swap out. I know I can go to D's and do it with D, but, i dunno... Im in the mood where I dont really wanna be around anyone... call it depression.... so how hard is it?

Pull either one of two radiator hoses, remove 2 -3 bolts, make sure you have the right T-stat, replace it then reassemble.

I did mine a couple weeks ago...piece of cake. Took longer to drain the antifreeze than to change it. It doesn't even take a gasket just an oring. Mines a 4.0.

Its a breeze on a 3.0 also. The 2.3's are a little bit of a pain though.

Just drain the coolant about 1/2 way down the radiator.
Follow the top rad hose to the engine.
Remove the hose from connection on the engine.
Remove 2 bolts holding fitting hose was on.
Remove fitting.
There's the thermostat.
Scrape off old gasket from both fitting surfaces.
Install new thermostat.
place gasket on engine side.
Reinstall hose connector and hose.
Start truck and watch it over heat because you forgot to :
Tighten hose clamp
tighten 2 bolts
add antifreeze
