Head gasket seal- Block seal, what works?

There seems to be SEVERAL head gasket sealants on the market, my question is who here has ACTUALLY USED a head gasket sealer and did it work?

I have a SEEPING gasket and I am not going to pay for somebody to remove the heads and replace the gaskets when i have ( 230,000 ) miles on a tired engine. So this will be a temporary fix until I can get a new Ford engine for $2,400 for my 1996 ranger.

Thanks!!

The more details the better with those with hands on experience doing this gasket repair job in a bottle.

I already tried this brand new product that is compatible with all antifreeze and it only worked for 2 months, $29.00 bucks per bottle http://www.barsproducts.com/1111.htm

Not headgasket, but Barr's did a GREAT job on my friends O rings/main seal on her Subaru. It's still not leaking a year later, and we did it as a temp fix.

It has been known to.
As an alternative for small heater / rad core leaks , old timers used to use ,get this,.......coarse ground black pepper.
I tried it in an old Chevy and it worked fine until I overheated it too much and the pressure blew it out. My own fault for working it too hard.

I had a leak around a cylinder sleeve and tried a couple things that worked only temporarily. Then I came across this stuff that was guarantied to work or double the money back. I decided it was worth a try. It was kind of expensive but it did work and has been working for about three years now with no signs of failure. This is very good because it is in a numbers matching 428CJ engine and I would rather not have to re-sleeve or replace the engine.

The product is K&W Nanotechnology Head Gasket & Block Repair. You have to follow the instructions exactly which includes draining the block completely. I went an additional step and pulled vacuum on the cylinder that was leaking after running the engine the prescribed time. I can't guarantee that it will work but the manufacture does.
