How can you tell what size gas tank you have?

Ok, I just filled the tank yesterday and completely forgot to see how many gallons went in it...is there another way of finding out what size tank i have, maybe a sticker or engraving in the tank itself?

A measuring tape works well. Do things the hard way and calculate volume using LxWxH lol

Do you know how inaccurate our fuel gauges are? I'd run it til the 'check gage' light turns on, fill it, take the numer it took to fill and add 2.5. that's a rought estimte on your tank size.

As far as Know all "newer" I want to say '01 and up models have a 16 gallon tank regardless of whether or not they are supercab or regular cab. My '08 sport supercab has a 16 gallon tank, but my 96 xlt supercab had a 19 in it.

98+ reg cab short bed 16gal
reg cab long bed 20gal
super cab only came \w short bed & are all 19.5gal

The reserve on our trucks vary from 1-5gals. I never saw a fuel light on my 98 reg.cab sb 16gal tank or my 00 super.cab 19.5gal tank but on my 03 fuel light usualy comes on @ 17-17.5gal. \w19.5gal tank on the 98 remember filling up \w 15-15.5 &the same for the 00 but 17.5-19

I fill up when the fuel light comes on. I usually only can put like 13 to 13.5 gallons in and thats after it has clicked off. So, I still have like 3 gallons left in the tank.

Look in the "maintenance and specifications" section of the owners manual.
It's usually near the end of that section under "refill capacities."
Short W.B. regular cab is 16.5 gals. Long W.B. regular cab is 20 gals.
