Well.. the bottle is red, the locktite is red, it say "Red" and "Permanent" on the bottle.. yup, its red locktite.

Care to elaborate? I had a co-worker lose three lights last year after the 1000 because they vibrated loose.. where locktite would have prevented that.

They were on his chase truck (just a superduty), they fell on in the local desert towing his trailer out the week after.

They were installed with the provided hardware.

You didn't answer my question though. Why not put locktite on lights?

Locktite on anything is probably a smart idea, unless it's something you take off constantly.

Alon suggested a great idea to me, and I've finally been able to drill one of them but have the other side to do today. What I'm doing on the bolts that hold my shocks on is drill a hole through the middle of the nut and bolt (if your drilling anything near hardened Grade 8 like I am it will take awhile, and don't drill a huge hole that will destroy the bolt) and put a small lock through it. I'm not sure you'd want to go to that extent for lights, but I know that I don't want a pair of $800 shocks stolen from something as stupid as a little nut. By drilling through the nut and bolt, it also prevents them from being able to back the nuts off and tourque the lock off.

They can pull a cotter pin out though haha, but if a little work saves you money, it's worth it.

Ever get that terminal fixed?

if you use lock tite and alot of the lights arnt made to hold tons of turque you might have to use to get it back off agian you could strip out what was holding the head of the bolt thus causeing you to do drastic mesures to get the light off its a possiblity. if he would just use Nylon nuts they he shouldnt have a problem at all and if he is really worried use a nylon nut with a lock washer...OR...heres another idea my two front lights had 2! nylon nuts on them...double nut it...

No no no. The easiest way to do it is take a grinder and grind the edges of the nut to where it is round. Now how they getting it off now? Trust me it wirks. Plane and simple

trust me, use "Red" locktite and tighten them up good. Simple vise grips will not take them off. Iff there is ever someone that needs them that bad than they will use a damn torch to get them off...... but than again thats imo.

the best way to keep them from being stolen off the truck is not to have any there to begin with. saves the trouble/hassle of worring about it plus it looks better

Actually it's not, I've come to expect when morons jump in a thread they have no interest in/use in and just post out of pure spite because they have nothing better to do that insult or criticize what isn't theres. He's just another internet tough guy looking for a reason to feel better about being a jerk.

1st off im not no internet tough guy. im a truck guy. bottom line. im in to customizing trucks just yall are. yeah so what if were on different sides of the tracks when it comes to what looks good and what doesnt. thats what makes it fun hearing what others have to say about it and using that criticism to make your truck better.
you guys are more off road/puddle jumpers and im a street truck kinda guy.
thats what i prefer but im no means just a street trucks guy. i got a suzuki samurai sitting in the back yard. its my brothers but its there. but what im saying is that i come here offer my opinion and im the bad guy. what kinda crap is that. so im a jerk for thinking about doing something different and not being like everyone else? if thats the case dam right im a jerk
