I know nothing about alarms, help me!

I was considering an alarm for the Jeep, but know next to nothing about them. I do want to have a motion sensor b/c I will be parking it alot with no top or doors on. I have no interest in power lock/window features, glass features, because I don't even have windows or locks with soft doors, let alone power! I REALLY don't want to be that annoying neighbor whose alarm goes off all the freaking time either.

How hard is it to install WELL? I say well, b/c I don't want some jerk off laughing at my install as he disables it in seconds!

How is this one?

Someone please enlighten me!

I Have That Alarm...

I'm using that alarm on my truck. It's been great so far. I agree with you on the motion sensor and the Jeep - it's a must have feature. You could wire pin switches to the door jambs, but it probably isn't necessary with the motion sensor. Do you have a decent radio in the Jeep? If not you may be better off with a kill switch and a secure lock box of some sort. The alarm would help if you think someone would steal your wheels\tires and\or stereo. But if you have wheel locks and the ignition kill switch, well hidden of course, your vehicle may be more secure. I'm just offering a suggestion. I don't know your particular needs, just something to consider. But if you go the alarm route, that alarm is an excellent model.

Personally I'm goting to get a Viper alarm system and get a custom switch for my sliding rear window. Vipers aren't cheap, but niether are cars and trucks. I would rather spend $2,000 on an alarm. Than on a new car, subs, and windows, pride. Vipers have a neat little GPS unit too, you may want to consider checking them out. Compair them to other systems.

I'd rather spend $100/yr for a rider on my insurance.
