Been welding and using the torch all week. Got flash burn in my right eye. Now i'm sitting at home, don't have my contacts in so I can't see very well, could be working on my truck and my eye won't stop burning. IDK when I got the flash burn. I didn't wear goggles when I striked up the torch and adjusted it. Think that alone could of done it if I did that a few times? Because I always wear a welding helmet when I weld and I always wear darkened glasses when I use the torch except when lighting it. Then I had to go buy this 0.9oz bottle of prescription eye drops. Thank god I have insurance. Before insurance, it was $46 for not even an ounce of eye drops... Sorry, i'm just bored so thought i'd rant... At least my eyes still work!

I wear it all the time. Before I start and after I finish. Rather be safe then sorry.

That sucks dude. I had a buddy have that happen to him and he could not see right for a week. He got it in both eyes. Had to wear sun glasses in school the whole time.

Dude, ive gotten flash burn so many times. It feels like you have sand under your eyelids. Usually what I do is wet paper towels, and lay them on my eyes.

It looks really retarded, but its always worked well for me.

 

Flash burn sucks!! I got it in both eyes one time and it doesnt feel good at all. My eyes watered at night so when I woke up they would be all crusty sometimes.
