Looking at starting a small Busniess

Hey guys, I have recently finished my front and rear bumpers. And had a quite a few different people in the local area come up to me and ask were I got them. Once I told then I built them they asked if I could built them some as well. Now I have about 3 sets of bumpers floating around. All the same but it got me thinking that there is not a huge after market for Rangers as there is other 1/4 ton trucks so I thought I would feel the waters a bit and see if what you guys think.

I am looking at just having a few different styles of bumpers right now as well as rock sliders. Let me know what you guys think. Suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers
Chris

I will post pics of the new bumpers this evening.

I highly doubt many people in the states would buy things from you only because you are in Canada and shipping would be killer. But more options to people are always a good thing. I know Beard gives a great deal on a great slider and C4x4 builds front bumpers for the rangers but there not completely ready to mount when you get them. Maybe some samples of the stuff would be better too.

And if you want someone to test one out on an F-150, send one my way!

I am looking more towards the 1/4 ton trucks. But if it does take off, and I do get in to the 1/2 ton trucks I will let you know.

one thing to watch out for is people who say that they'll get something, but always find an excuse why they can't. If you already have had three people ask you to make one then that's certainly a good start. Were these people friends or just people around town who were genuinely interested? If you think you can make everything work, and offer it at a reasonable price than I say go for it.

For the right price I'd be definitely interested and I would think even staying in Canada you'd do okay! Post up some pics!

Thanks guys, Here are the bumpers that I built for my self, I will be building some for my buddy's ranger soon, and will post pics as soon as I built it out of plywood. Also both of these bumpers are bolt on, And if I do get the business going all of the bumpers will be built like that,

So on with the pics.

IMO the front bumper would have to be pretty cheap since it is a basic design and doesn't wrap around. And for the rear I wouldn't buy it because it doesn't really offer any protection. The besides could still get rocked (no pun intended) hardcore on a trail.

Just my opinion on how they will sell. Not **** talking the work. The work looks really good actually! And I think they fit your truck well. Just not the protection I would look for.

EDIT: ON a side note, did you lift the truck up a little more? Looks a little bit higher then the original SAS.

Build in some wrap-around protection for the rear, add a 2" reciever front and rear. I'd say you could get some business.

Yeah man, the quality looks great! I would tweak it just a bit though, like others have said. Wrap around definitely, and the hitches would be cool too. If your business takes off, in the future it would be cool to also incorporate lights and a winch mount. Like I said though the quality is there. The biggest problem will be shipping

Just sell them on forums and don't worry about starting the business thing. Just make it a garage business.

There is too many taxes, fees, crap you have to do and it wouldn't be worth your time.

Thanks for the input guys and keep it coming. I have already started to pick apart the bumpers and am looking at Building some with wrap around protection and receiver spots. I will hopefully have them built in wood this weekend so you guys can have a look.

Also an Idea is have square fog light hole like off of the 04s and have them so they mount right up. Or at least make it an option not a all bumper thing
