Need help with 87 Ranger

Bought a really cheap 87 Ranger as a project. All around sound with no rust or major body damage for its age. Problem is someone broke into the column in order to steal it from the prior owner and damaged the cylinder lock and lock cylinder support within the column. I have the new cylinder but need to know if you can get the column support that holds the lock cylinder or am I looking at a new column? I If I go new column would another year suffice as I can’t locate anything in the interweb? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum

You will probably be better off with a new(used) column, 1985 to 1988 should be fine "floor shift" models, you can get it with or without tilt

Good place to look is: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

Just enter your year and ford ranger and the part you want, steering column, then zip and/or Texas
Then pick the type you want
I assume 1987 Ranger had floor shift for manual and automatic

There were a few when I looked, $60-$100
Now you can take the guts out of one of these to fix yours, or use the whole thing

Its just that steering column parts on their own may be hard to come by, and the places that have whole columns may have partial columns that have the parts you need

1988 ford

I have full size F-150 lariat wheels for my 1988 rangerthe stock 14 in wheels are small so I have 15 in wheels the bolt pattern is 5 bolts the space is bigger then the axle will allow I need spacers to fit the wheels. What size spacers/bolt size would I need to carry out my project?
