neeeeeeeeew motor?

so here is a project that will be a cool one in my opinion. i'll be leaving with the my unit in the us air force to go overseas for a bit and i am leaving my truck with my wife, so i was gonna put it in the shop. like a professional shop, to have a new engine put in. mine has 150 k, and yes i know that is not a ton of miles but i love this truck and i may not have this good of an opportunity to do a new engine so i wanna take advantage of this. so what are some good ideas? i'm lookin to do another 3.0 v6 (yes i know i should go bigger but i really dont wanna customize the truck that much, its a daily driver.) but i wanna do alot along with the new motor so it has a better ride as well as a more durable tough range of use. i kinda wanna do some gearing but i know that is a different story, so what are some good mods that will make it a sturdy motor? maybe even a little horsepower? but i really just wanna have a truck i know i will be able to get another 200k out of, and yes i am a routine maintenance ****. so what can i do to make that 3.0, well, a damn unique 3.0?

Honestly I would do at least a 5.0, IMO its not worth it to do a swap on a perfectly running truck for the same motor. Especially when it goes it wouldn't take a shop real long to do it when it does go.

Keep what you or go bigger!

its not really a matter of time its that the money flow to buy performance and just better quality may not come about due to kids and bills

Put the money away. Or if your not gonna have the money later maybe save this money now.

Not trying to be negative but why replace a perfectly good motor for the same thing? A junkyard motor can be had for about $500 bucks. If you can do the work yourself then you will be set. If not a shop would be fairly cheap to do a direct swap.

i see the point and i would do the labor myself but unfortunitly i dont have the skills to do so. i was kinda wanting to do a brand new motor, noit only for the fact that i love the 3.0(call me crazy) but i think it is a good way to start over. mine runs amazing but i wanna start new so i dont have to replace other major parts down the road

Sounds like you won't take no for an answer so go for it.

But the 3.0 won't have much more power unless you get a supercharger but those are hard to find.

which leads me back to my original question, what are some mods or equiptment i can add or replace to make it a sturdy motor. give it a lil more pep in its step, make it a smoother or better running motor from the factory without hurting the moter block or tranny. its tough to explain, but i wanna make a good motor better, is it possible and if so what should i look into

okay i get it, hard to find supercharge = power. but what else? minor mods, to timing and performance, we're not just talking raw power here, more of the science and little ticks of what i can do to make a good motor run even better, i'll quote it if it makes it a little more clear

i perfectly get what your saying, your aginst the 3.0 due to the lack of power. now i could sit here til kingdom come listening to you make puns along with half the people on this forum about how ****ty the 30 is. but i ain't here for that, as i see it you think i am trying to make a high performance 30, your not gettin the point bud, i'm trying to work out the kinks ford didn't when makin the motor. maybe even better gas mileage. no not an overhaul, not a ****ing supercharger but just a few, yes that is in the relm of less than 10, mods or so to a NEW stock 3.0 to make a, guess what......... make a good motor better. not a racer, not a wheelin rig, but a better built, more sturdy motor. now will someone who has something other than performance on their mind please chime in to suggest their opinion, i.e. maybe a solution to the cam synchro problem they had, or maybe a solution to the antifreeze leaking problem, even tho i know all motors will wear and tear so i know this will happen. but i'll even be open to minor wiring fixes and or kits that can save money down the road.
