No heat in cab.
No heat in cab.
Hi all.I have a 2015 ford ranger 2.2.The hot air has stopped coming into the cab.I have replaced the thermostat and water pump to see if it would help but hasn't.I have also went and taken the dash out and replaced the heater radiator behind the dash but still no joy.Anybody any ideas what could be wrong. Thanks.
Welcome to the forum
Is that Monaghan, Ireland?
Wife and I were just there for a wedding at the end of August, stayed at the Westenra Hotel, nice place but noisy on the weekends, lol, but also something to do with school grades or ??
Anyway we could never get your T6 Rangers here in North America, ours were smaller and 1983-2011, no diesels
But a couple of tests are common on all vehicles with "no heat in cab" issue
After engine is warmed up feel the 2 heater hoses at the firewall, should BOTH be hot, if not then heater bypass valve is on and should be off, this is a AC control
If both heater hoses are hot then go into the cab and have fan on low and Defrost
Feel the air coming out of the Defrost vent, and cycle **** from cold to hot and back again a few times, should feel the temp change even a bit
If not then most vehicles have whats called a Blend Door, this a door moves to direct the air coming from the fan either thru the heater core(HOT) or around the heater core(COLD), that's what the Temp **** controls, the Blend Door
Common issue on our Fords was a failed Blend Door Actuator, the small motor that moves the blend door
Australian Ford Ranger forums would be a good place for you to look for specific info we don't have on this forum
Australia got the T6 Rangers

That's correct monaghan ireland. Thanks for the reply. The two hoes going through to the fire wall one is hot and the other cold which lead me to believe the heater core was blocked. There wouldn't be a great flow coming through the one that is hot could there be a problem somewhere else.
Yes, one hot hose and one cold is usually a clogged heater core
But follow the hoses to the engine to make sure there is not a Valve on a hose to block flow thru the heater core, this is common if there is a MAX AC setting in cab controls
After its cooled down you can pull off both hoses, at the engine end if possible, point one hose down at the ground and use garden nose to Flush the core using the other hose, then reverse directions, heater cores don't have a pre-set IN and OUT, so its always a good idea to reverse the hoses at the firewall every few years to keep core "flushed out"
You can also blow the core out, use your lungs, lol
Then mix some vinegar(or CLR) and hot water, and pour it into the core, wait 15-20min then flush it again
Repeat as much as you like
You can often get some flow back, and keep reversing directions
In Ireland I kept seeing these road signs on the highways that looked like a feather or carrot sideways..............means high winds possible, its a windsock
Feather or carrot crossing............... I guess I am an idiot, lol

Hi guys just an update on the no heat in cab issue.I have replaced the heater core behind the dash and yes there is definitely warmer air now in the cab but I feel it still isnt where it should be.So far I have replaced the thermostat and water pump also the heater core but I'm still not satisfied. I'm wondering could it be the egr cooler. Is there a heater control valve on it that maybe stuck or something thar is not letting the coolant circulate.
Feel the heater hoses at the firewall, that's the temp that should be felt in the cab
We don't have access to your model Ranger here, but our models use a Blend Door to route air from the blower/fan either thru the heater core(HOT) or around the heater core(COLD) or any where in between
Ours used an electric motor to move the Blend Door, and it would break, but not move at all, so if you can turn temp to cold and air temp drops then turn it back to hot and temp goes up then its most likely working
Its still possible the Blend Door is not sending ALL the air thru the heater core, not closing all the way, but not sure how to check that on your model Ranger
