They won't merge...but a partnership would be a good idea IMO.

What I would give to have Ford axles under my truck. I'll keep my engine thank you very much

I agree with Ranger1...Ford and GM are both getting ripped a new one by Honda/Toyota/Nissan.

This would leave Ford and GM to monopolize the US auto maker's market. Anyone see it the same way is I?

Dodge.. Mitsu engines, Korean steel.. US? Their worse then Ford and GM! Popped the hood on my past Sebring Coupe.. Sh1tsubee-sheesh engine.. Ricelyer.

The upcoming Ford Edge has the 6-speed auto that is a joint venture with GM. That model will be in both brands, 2wd and 4wd. Might be pretty cool...

The same company that owns DC-mopar, owns Airbus. Since I've been with Boeing for 20 years, I won't be buying a DC car in this lifetime. Just like those french Nissan products.... owned by Renault.

This will never happen. They only do R and D sharing to save money. While they will both have the 6 speed they will be quite different and not interchangable.
