Ranger Down

I have lost my beloved ranger
I was involved in an accident friday 7-27-07 and my baby girl did not make it
It had just got done raining and i was making a lane change and hit a water hole wrong and hydroplaned, next thing i knew i was upside down on another car.
Amazinly i walked away without a scratch on me, and i was the only one involved. My truck is pretty much totaled and the honda civic i landed on is totaled. The civic was parked next to a house, which had not been for the cement pole i hit causing the truck to go sideways into the car, i would have been in the house.
Im sure glad somebody is looking out for me that i walked away unhurt and that nobody else got hurt either.

I will say though, the entire sound system is still intact and properly working!!!!
The truck will not start, front right tire/suspension is not good, whole bed shifted to the driver side and had actually hit the cab, lots more damage done than pics show, but im going to say is easy to assume its totaled
Im still amazed i walked away without a scratch and nobody else got hurt
watch out for those water holes
Also because of this i was unable to take the truck to the 4x4 jamboree in canfield that i had registered for, owell ill get a refund, went to the show anyways and it was pretty nice

Im gonna see what the insurance company says, and how much they give me, i will be getting another ranger, hopefully new. Im checking prices on other trucks and the ranger is the cheapest around, so ill probably stick to it, hasnt done me wrong yet

damn, I know what you mean about that rain puddle getting you. Well it has rained here everyday for like 45 days in a row and now the roads get flooded everyday when it rains. I've hit a few puddles that you couldn't see and it jerked the wheel. Got to be careful, at least you made it out.

thanks for everybodys concern
I got a good look at the truck between yesterday and today-couple of things
1-i did find the fuel shutoff switch, it fired right up no problem-lots and lots of smoke do to the fact that i think half the oil in the truck came out the intake, did not move it though on account the tie rod is broke in half, if you notice tires are facing different directions
2-entire rear end is shifted to the driver side, the bed actually contacted and dented the driver side of the cab
3-back winodw is popped out
4-the cab itself is shifted towards the driver side
5-whole lot of problems with the front ride side of the truck
yes the tires are stock good years and ive had many problems with the drive tire spinning, none this bad until now
On the good point, the entire sound systems works fine-all subs are intact and still kick, all components still sing, and the tweeters still tweet, and the H/U still works
I pulled the system out today, as well as a couple of other items that are not covered under the insurance.
I will note though, for all of you with all those toys on the truck, make sure you have an endorsement on your insurance to cover the extra goodies, i just got mine put on a week ago and im glad i did
One last thing, depending on what insurance does, more than likely i will be getting another new ranger-i like the truck

Udate on the truck

Talked to the insurance guy today
The truck is totaled-like i didnt know that-anyways
The value of the truck is $16,383 +taxes-which isnt bad
They asked is i wanted to salvage the truck and take the salvage price off the value to keep the truck ($875)
Most of the damage is cosmetic
The motor and the driveline and trasnmission is fine, will start and drive(if not for the broken tie rod)
I have a K&N intake, magnaflow exhaust-needs tips-powermaster alternator-optima battery and among many other parts that are still good
Rims are good as well
If i can gather up enough people that want parts, or the whole truck i can salvage it and make some extra money off it
THIS ALL DEPENDS FINAL SAY FROM INSURANCE OF COURSE
If anybody is interested in parts or the whole truck let me know, prefer to not have to ship anything
They should be contacting me in the next couple of days so thats all i have to decide if i keep it or let the insurance company have it
Moderators-if this is in the wrong place feel free to move, thought i would keep everything to one thread though

He will still get whatever money they were going to give him, just $875 less and he will have the truck.

I noticed the other day the right front wheel is bent so no good

Also want to put out that the insurance company has contacted me and re-evaluated the truck and came back with a better value for the truck and they are paying me in full for the accessories on it, so they will be keeping the whole truck, cant pass up the offer

Also had to move the truck the couple of days ago becuase we might be concreting that portion of the driveway and we dont know when they are coming to get the truck, man this thing drives funny, i think it would need almost all new suespension if it were to be fixed, one little bump and it feels like you just dropped 10ft and steering is hard on account front wheels both point in, its all messed up,
