Rear Turn Signals/Hazards and brake lights...
Just swap a bed on my 2005 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0L RWD...connected the electrical connector to my taillights on the bed..turned on the lights, the red and reverse light works fine front and back. But ONLY my front turn signals works but in the rear, the brake light and the turn signal doesn't work at all....I replaced the fuses, and the Flasher Relay (When I tested the light after swapped the bed, it was making a buzzing noise so I replaced the flasher relay and it worked in front but the rear turn signal and brake light don't work but just the daylight red)
I need this fixed asap because I have to go out of state with my truck and I cannot be pulled over or get wrecked..Leaving this Friday..

2005 use whats called 2 wire tail lights, 2000-2011, 1995-1999 use whats called 3 wire
2 wire used 1 wire for the brake and turn lights on each side, and 1 wire for Park lights
3 wire used separate bulbs for brakes lights, turn signals and park lights
So 2 wire just had the one Dual filament bulb, brake/turn, and Park
3 wire had dual filament bulb, brake/park, and separate bulb for turn
Back up lights where separate on both, so no issue there
IF............you are using the wiring harness from the used bed you got and its a 3 wire harness(yellow turn lens) then you can either get a 2 to 3 wire adapter used on trailers: https://www.curtmfg.com/part/56196
Or do some fancy wiring, well creative wiring, lol
2005 should have one Black/pink stripe wire at the rear for Park lights
Older bed harness with have a Brown wire for Park lights, connect those together and make sure they work, its also for license plate lights
I am assuming you have the Black Ground wire connected to a good ground, if not do that first
Now the tricky part, there will be a Light green/orange stripe wire on the truck, thats the left turn/brake wire, you will connect that to the Light green(no stripe) wire from the bed
Try Left turn signal, BOTH sides will flash
Also with signal off try brakes, both side should light up, because the bed shares that light green wire to both "brake" light bulbs, left and right side
The light green wire will have a splice in it, on the left/driver side near the connector, you need to FIND the light green wiring going over to Right side bulb, and CUT IT
You need to use it for your right turn/brake wire
There will be an orange/light blue stripe wire on the truck wires, that needs to be hooked to the CUT light green wire going to the right bulb
And you are done
Do not use the orange/light blue stripe wire on the bed wires, as thats for the yellow right turn bulb
And +1 to what 2011Supercab said, not that it matters now, lol
1993 to 2011 beds used the same SIZE tail light lens, can be swapped around at will, there are different styles, but all are the same size and will fit any bed in those years
