Taking out a spark plug on my new-to-me 2008 and snapped off the EGR pressure sensor. Doh! Couple questions:
1. I'm guess there is a bracket or two missing? It was not attached to anything, just held by the plastic tubes
2. If I need to drive it before the replacement shows up, is it better to leave the tubes open or closed?
Google: 2008 Ford Ranger (insert engine size here) DPFE sensor
i.e. 2008 Ford Ranger 3.0l DPFE sensor
Yes, you can drive it the way it is, may want to break it off the rest of the way, and plug the 2 exhaust holes
You will need to reuse the rubber hoses, so will need to extract the broken off plastic nipples
The check engine light(CEL) will come on, but engine will run fine and won't hurt anything, but it does prevent pinging/knocking so needs to be repaired
Thanks! Googled it and found a video. Looks like it just floats on the rubber tubes, no mounting bracket. Surprising, but at least now I know to be careful around it.
