I would love to find one of those. Minus the gas mileage haha.
I don't know about those D-window style wheels, I've seen some other earlier wheels that are alot nicer. And of Classic IIs always look good haha.
A tube grille guard would be a nice change as well.

nice crewcab, but you could have put a child seat in the supercab of the ranger, did it on my '88 the seat belt didnt hold it down very tight, so i used tarp straps to keep it secure in place on the jump seat, it was a smaller child seat though, the newer ones are a bit big to fit on the jump seat, sure it was mounted sideways but it did the job fine.
To the OP. Congrats on your beautiful child. Nice truck too! The body looks great. You made the correct choice for you family.
To get better fuel economy, an overdrive transmission would make the most difference. A quality engine rebuild/replacement built for torque will make the most of the overdrive gear.
I got plans to paint those wheels black ( like i did to the ranger) and for whatever reason I love that old farm hand style bumper. Im gonna repaint that, but Im still on the fence if i should paint it with bed liner. I also got a set of super duty front springs from a 03 F250 that will put about 2-3" lift on the front. Im not in any hurry to pull the motor or trans just to gain a few mpgs. But I currently have a fuel heater on it and have gained about 20% better fuel economy and have more ideas with a fuel vaporizer ( not an HHO system). And Im glad somebody else thought that the tarp strap for the child seat was a bad idea..... not with my little angel!!!! Im moving to Pismo beach area and cant wait to get this thing out to the dunes and do a little camping with the family..... im also thinking about getting a little baja bug to go putting around with. This is why I got this truck for family fun time!!!!
So after all this chatter about keeping my truck, I did something that some people may not agree with. I had a guy approach me with an interesting offer for a trade. At first I said no way, but then I thought about all the options. It seems the trade had more pros than cons. I traded my beloved truck for a 1977 FJ 40. It seems these things are worth alot more $$$ than I ever imagined. Im selling it and am going to pay off all my hospital maternity bills and most of my credit cards and still have enought to get a little baja bug for the dunes. I really couldnt say no, the kid came from $ and didnt care of the overall value of the trade, he just loved my truck and was willing to take a loss on his FJ to get it. Still sad to see my truck go, but its going to feel good to have some bills paid off.

just for the h*ll of it, I found a couple of really clean classic broncos on CL and asked if they wanted to trade. No real responses yet. Have you heard of the guy who started out with a Razor cell phone and began trading on CL and kept trading up til he got a Porsche Boxer. WTF.... I want to do that!!!

Well I never traded the FJ for a classic Bronco, but did end up selling it. I now own my baby and dont owe the hospital anything and had enough for another old crewcab...... i think im addicted. Best thing is, it has a 12V Cummins stuffed in it and will get better mileage than the ranger. The guy lived up by my inlaws and dropped it off at their house. I get to go pick it up in a couple of weeks when I go for a visit. I cant wait.

You have to be one of the most lucky guys I've seen to go from a hard to find clean 77 crewcab to a rare Old FJ to another 77ish crewcab with a Cummins in it?? You don't get luckier than that!
Beware, I'm afraid something bad might happen soon. I've found that luck seems to be like the weather... nice for a few days, then bam! Thunderstorms all over for a week.
Or you might just be lucky, lol.
