I have a 93 ranger I pressed the button to shift to 4 wheel high. It shifted and then the light went out on the dash for 4x4. There is no light on the switch when I shift back it is stuck in 4 weel high. Can any one help

 

You can try tapping on the solenoid with a small hammer or crescent or something to see if it will shift. Also trying backing it up

 

No light reads like blown fuse.

Check fuses in cab fuse box.
#7, #13, #17

#17 may be empty, thats OK

Also check fuse #7 in engine compartment fuse box, thats the power for electric shift motor on transfer case, the one camodown said to tap, tapping it is a good idea the brushes for the electric motor get stuck if motor isn't used every month
