Two questions, cant figure this out!
Two questions, cant figure this out!
Okay so ive got a 98' 2.5L 4 cylinder 5 speed.
Question #1:
i cant seem to find my PCV valve ( No its not on the valve cover, i looked there) and the repair manual just vaguely says that its "Towards the rear of the engine" and i cant seem to find it (Ive got a vaccum leak and i think that vaccum line and PCV valve are the culprit)
Question #2
I just got my offroad lights working (woot!) and i dont need my headlights aimed parallel to the ground anymore since my offroad lights are. Anyways, How do i adjust the headlight beam to aim more at the ground then straight ahead like they are now?
Probably two dumb questions, but i appreciate all advice, thanks guys!

im not sure about 98s. but i think its a standard thing to have little adjustment screws behing the headlights. check and there will probably be 4 on each light and lengthen the top or shorten the bottom to aim them down.
im sure someone who knows for sure will chime im soon

Lol it was like that when i bought the truck, anyone who drives a car (or anything at that ride height) Hates me because my lights shine right into thier side mirrors lol
I have a 98 also...when I got my truck the driver's side headlight (original) was aimed correctly...passenger's side was aimed straight down at the ground like 10 feet in front of the truck, lol. There are 3 adjustment screws...the one I used needed a 5/32 wrench. Here's a picture of it...
It's a real easy fix...I just used the screw shown above (the top screw). There are 2 more; one about halfway down on the other side (seems to be for left/right adjustment), and the other all the way down on the same side as the one pictured (which is broken on the headlight I adjusted and might not be necessary). Obviously you should fix this ASAP since blinding other people on the road can result in bad things...

The 1999 Ranger 2.5L 4 cylinder PCV valve is located on the driver's side of the engine, approximately between the #1 and #2 spark plugs and under the intake manifold runners. It's on top of a small cannister called the "oil separator." It's difficult to see, especially if it's dirty, so you will probably need a flashlight. To remove it, pull it straight up, out of its rubber grommet. I use a set of long pointed pliers to grasp the rubber hose attached to the top of it and pull it up that way.

Could this be the PCV valve?
Close in/it's the greasy thing. There's a rubber hose connected to it going off to the right (picture taken from front of truck).

A little further back...the suspect item is still visible here but gives a bit more stuff to refer off of.
