VIN NUMBER

Does the VIN tell what transmission and transfer case .Where I find that info?

No, it doesn't

Just engine size and vehicle type, and serial number
Drivers door sticker will show transmission type, under TRANS will be a Letter or number, thats the model of trans

Some VIN search sites have access to Ford serial numbers which did have "options" that would include transmission, but just manual or automatic

Rangers all used BW1354 transfer case from 1990 and up, BW1350 before that, either can be used, only changes were front drive shaft hook up and rear flange size, and that changed by year for the BW1354
