It's a nice looking truck but I say keep your truck.

My 01 has 120,000 miles and it still runs great. 42k is pretty low compared to a lot of other people's mileage, even if yours has some problems.

I have all black interior.... Just no leather...

I dont get the point of this. Ya its a nice truck but to me it seems like you are pissing your money away. Theres nothing wrong with your truck now. What are you getting with this one? Oh, it has a level II sticker on it and some factory skid plates. Wow, thats really worth it. Sorry if I am coming off as an *** but oh well.

well robert, if you read his post, he said that the payments will be the same.. So really he's not pissing that much money away.. its got a lifetime powertrain warrenty.. which if he can keep that after the BL.. then hes really just upgrading for basically no money..

Well james, since I did read the entire thead, the payment each month are the same amount. How many more months do you get to tack on now? They have the same amount of miles on the trucks also so its not like your really getting anything there.

my timing chain rattles everytime i accelerate, but it's been doing it since about 40,000 miles (have 72,500 now) the truck runs perfect, though ...no acceleration issues.

I think it's allot of money for an 06 with 40k on it. But, like other people have said, it's your money. Plus it's a nice truck.

Id say no....you have only had the truck for 1.5 years? I would spend the money on a mechanic to fix the problem if i couldnt...Thats a hell of lot cheaper and your truck is still basically new with 40K miles...you just have the new vehicle bug

Hey Ben, I don't care what you do.. I mean, it's your money and your life, but you have a great truck that seems to have an issue. Have you gone to the dealership and had them evaluate it? At my dealership it's $90 for them to tell me whats wrong, and I can still save money by fixing it myself. Seems like even paying for their evaluation would bring out out ahead in the end rather than trying 50 different fix-its that aren't even related to the problem...

Wow, ADD much? its like everyweek you start this same kinda thread, lol (trading the ranger for this......)

why not just keep your current truck... its the exact same thing...

If you bought a brand new house in August would you move to the exact "similar/same" one next door when it gets built in October?

i would do it bc of the powertrain warranty and bc its the same payment. if you get a diff vehicle u lose all the money on the aftermarket parts, but gettin a ranger would nip the new truck bug in the but and let you keep your parts at the same time. if i could afford it id get me an 05+ f150 ex cab FX4 bc i need something to pull a trailer easier w/. almost had one but tlkd myself out of it, im gonna wait a yr so my insurance will be lower when the wreck is wiped off my record. plus theyll be a yr older and a little cheaper. lol. ive got issues w/ my truck as well, usual 2001 timing chain, front end poping, front brakes cracking. when i get back from vac im gonna replace both in/out TREs and UCAs w/ upper bjs, and some KYB monomax shocks. and possibly some EBC ultimax rotors and hawk pads. had a bad axle shaft too but got that fixed. itll fix the problem and when i sell/trade it in i wont feel like a dick cuz im pawnin of a problem onto someone else
