When did they stop offering flaresides?
I was pricing out an 07 fx4 and a LII on fordvehicles.com. I noticed there weren't any flareside options for any of the models. When was the flareside bed discontinued or am I missing something?

They had that disco in 99 when i got mine.
That's wierd I always assumed Flaresides were cheaper, around here it was always a flareside that got the extra incentives and lower prices. All of the "Lease a Ranger for $189 a month" Rangers were Flaresides. I was mad when they got a $300 rebate for flaresides when I bought my 01 and a $500 when I bought my 04. Not to mention if you do an autotrader search for used rangers in the Minneapolis area it is flooded with flaresides. I can't have a flareside as my wheeler won't fit in the bed.

In recent years, the Ranger Flareside bed was a standalone +$500 option. Every so often, Ford would have some promotion and give you $500 off of a Flareside, effectively offsetting the cost of the option. I heard somewhere that Ford had a contract with the supplier to purchase a minimum number of Flareside beds per model year to keep the bed in production and I assume that the incentives were used to keep the Flareside sales high enough to meet the contract.
