That's what I thought. It is the same here (and I suspect nearly everywhere). The cool thing is they hardly check.. at lest Ford didn't on my last two trucks. All I had to do is sign something saying I promise to keep it insured, they never checked! Meanwhile my GF in Mass needed to have a signed binder faxed to the dealer. But Mass is **** anyhow. They don't have temp plates. You have to register the vehicle before you can pick it up, which pretty much means no driving it home that day! In NH we've got like 15 days after we take delivery to register and another 10 after that to inspect.. But anyway..

maybe a street lot 'buy here pay here' dealer, but no bank that I know of...
likely they would not require collision coverage

Louie the leg breaker or Keith the knee capper protects their investment - insurance has little to do with it
