1986 Ford Ranger turn signal issue
Hello all, and THANK YOU in advance: My '86 Ranger turn signal arm is not clicking, and I get no action. Seems the internal mechanism is broken. I've never done this job and if I can get a heads-up on what to do, what to expect, it'd be much appreciated. Nothing trick here; no cruise, no adjustable column. Straight stuff.
Thank you,
Tony

LMC truck shows the switch and actuator available, yes this is NOT the multi-function switch that was used from 1989 and up, just the plain ol' turn signal switch, lol, 1983-1988
Go here: Truck Parts & Truck Accessories for Chevy, GMC, Ford & Dodge Trucks
Select FORD
Then RANGER.......not Pickup, thats full size, i.e. F-150
Then 1983-11
Type in turn signal and Shop Now
Then you should see page 45: Truck Parts and Truck Accessories
Top left is the 1983 to 1988 turn signal switch(#5), no lever, I assume it unscrews
Looks like tilt or no tilt wheel used the same switch
There is also the actuator assembly(#4), which can break as well, and there is a difference in 1986

Thanks Ron, that helps a lot, especially the insight that the actuator for 1986 is different. The turn signal handle... can't figure if it screws in; it's like an angled lever and not a rod, so I don't know if I'll find a pin in there, or what. I'll heck out the link you gave me. Much appreciated.

Got the job done today. Relieved that I didn't have to pull the steering wheel. Just unscrewed the two Philips screws that held the plastic cover on, then it was two torx screws. Hard time pulling the two connectors out--didn't want to bust the windshield washer switch handle, but managed it, (broke one).
Thanks again for all of the help.
